Our 3-hour Advanced Safeguarding Infants & Children L2 is designed for those who work or care with Infants and children from birth to 8 years.
When working with infants and children, you must have up-to-date knowledge of child protection procedures. This advanced course will help you to build on your existing knowledge and remind you how to identify abuse and report concerns. Those with a Safeguarding Designated Person/Officer Job role should compete in our Safeguarding Designated Person L3 course.
This course is suitable for anyone who works with infants and children and has individual or team safeguarding responsibilities.
Aims of the Course
On completion of this course, learners will:
· To understand what is 'safeguarding' and why learning about safeguarding children is so important.
· To understand the difference between safeguarding and child protection.
· To identify the indicators and warning signs of abuse
· To understand the role that other professionals and social care have in safeguarding
· Understand how to refer and the social care referral process, possible responses and what happens during the post referral process
· Have a knowledge of child protections plan and assessments
